Eugene Loh

Eugene Chen Loh, 72, Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Physics at the University of Utah, died of renal cancer on May 19 at his home in Arlington, VA. He lived in Salt Lake City for 25 years and had relocated to Virginia to take a position at the National Science Foundation.

Gene Loh Retirement

Congratulations to distinguished Professor Eugene C. Loh. Gene retired from active service at the end of 2002 and is now Distinguished Professor Emeritus. Click here to view the slide show presentations and photos from his retirement dinner - February 2003. Of course, Gene remains active in physics. Among his many current irons in the fire is the Nightglow ballon flights from Australia, the goal of which is to understand the UV night-glow of the earth in preparation for the OWL (Orbiting Wide-angle Light collector cosmic ray experiment.
