Congratulations to distinguished Professor Eugene C. Loh. Gene retired from active service at the end of 2002 and is now Distinguished Professor Emeritus. Of course, Gene remains active in physics. Among his many current irons in the fire is the Nightglow ballon flights from Australia, the goal of which is to understand the UV night-glow of the earth in preparation for the OWL (Orbiting Wide-angle Light collector cosmic ray experiment.
