U. Expert At London 'Ray" Meet
Special to The Tribune
A small group of elite scientists who are doing the world's work on high energy cosmic rays met in London last week to talk about their work.
Among the experts was Dr. Jack W. Keuffel, professor of physics at the University of Utah, who is doing widely acclaimed work on the mysterious neutrino particles.
Last week he received a $41,800 grant from the National Science Foundation, making a total of $900.000 he has received from the NSF for his project.
Dr. Keuffel and his staff are completing a giant 'trap" some 2,000 feet under a mountain in Park City to measure the elusive neutrino particles which bombard the earth by the billions from outer space.
Scientists around the globe regard the U. project as the most sophisticated one of its kind now in existence a major reason for Dr. Keuffel's invitation to the London conference.
